Masayoshi Son, the founder of SoftBank Vision Fund, recently gave a talk to startup CEOs during a press conference in which he shared trade secrets that helped him succeed. SoftBank World is an annual conference for Japanese Telecoms, but this year the primary audience were business owners who have all taken money from the $100 Billion fund owned by Son.
Son’s core advice to all the entrepreneurs in the audience: treat each other like family. Help other startups by creating connections through favorable deals that will help both parties grow faster. Masayoshi Son is also known as an early investor in Alibaba, which helped him bounce back from a devastating loss in the early 2000’s. He holds quarterly gatherings across various locations in the US and Japan.
